  • Fine and Visual Performing Arts: Students can express themselves and cultivate their artistic talents through courses in Band, Chorus, Art, and other performing arts opportunities.

  • Career and Technical Education (CTE): These courses provide practical skills and introduce students to various career pathways. Examples may include Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS), Technology Education, and more, preparing students for future success in high school and beyond.

  • World Languages: Students have the opportunity to begin their journey in global communication through courses like Spanish, gaining valuable cultural understanding and language proficiency.

  • Other Electives: A variety of additional electives are available to broaden horizons and cater to diverse interests, ensuring every student finds something engaging.

 

After-School Clubs and Athletics

The learning and growth at T. Benton Gayle Middle School extend well beyond the traditional school day. We encourage all students to get involved in our vibrant after-school clubs and athletic programs, fostering teamwork, leadership, and personal well-being.

Clubs and Activities: Our diverse range of clubs provides opportunities for students to pursue interests, develop new skills, and connect with peers who share similar passions. Notable clubs include:

  • Student Council Association (SCA): Developing leadership and representing student voices.

  • National Junior Honor Society (NJHS): Recognizing and fostering academic excellence, leadership, and service.

  • National Junior Beta Club: Promoting the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service.

  • Drone Club: Engaging in hands-on STEM challenges with drone technology.

  • Sea Perch: Building underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and exploring engineering principles.

  • Girls on the Run: (Coming this year!) Empowering girls through running and positive self-development.

Athletics: T. Benton Gayle Middle School offers a variety of athletic opportunities designed to promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Our programs provide a competitive and supportive environment for student-athletes. Our athletic offerings include:

  • Football

  • Girls and Boys Basketball

  • Volleyball

  • Field Hockey

  • Softball

  • Track and Field

  • Wrestling

  • We also offer intramural soccer for students interested in a less formal, recreational experience.
